The word came from German bullets. The ball word means "ball", as in a circle. Kugel was cooked when breathed into round pans. In Yiddish, the word ball court. Today, most ball in square pans.

Potato Ball

6 medium baking potatoes, peeled

1 large onion, peeled (with some onion, if you do not want the taste of onion)

2 large eggs

6 tablespoons butter (if using margarine, the taste will be different)

2 tablespoons matzah meal (I tried using flour and I taste the difference)

1 teaspoon salt

Scrub the potatoes and onions. I use a Braun Multimix. I know others use food processor. My mother still hand-gridsthem. Let the water the potatoes.

Melt the butter. I actually will melt in saucepan and then pour into the bowl so that the pot well covered. Place in a bowl, mix eggs, salt, melted butter and flour, matzah. Add the potatoes and mix.

Pour into casserole and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Less than 375 degrees and bake another 45 minutes. Top is brown and crispy. Cook-ball to avoid the top of the hot stove on the floor.

CutSquares and serve hot.

Rice Krispy ball

This is one of my favorite recipes. My kids ask every week. When I prepare for guests, I am shocked by the fact that it is a combination of pasta and rice is kripies.

3 cups Rice Krispies

3 eggs

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 / 2 package onion soup mix

French fried onion rings, first

Mix all ingredients except onion rings in a large bowl. Pour into a baking dish. Top with onion rings andBake about 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Notes: I always use low-fat cream cheese and does not alter the taste or texture of the recipe. I tried to change the consistency of egg substitute.

Finally I would like a ball with you very sweet. Noodles are used as a base, but add the apples, apricots, pineapple, make a ball very sweet.

Fruit and Noodle balls

1 pound egg noodles wide, cooked according to package directions towards

¼ pound butterzone (I melt and pour into the pan pot, and then into the pot)

¼ cup sugar

4 eggs

2 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced

1 ea 20 oz can crushed pineapple and juice

1 cup dried apricots, cut into small pieces

Directions: Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Put in buttered casserole and bake at 350F for about 60 minutes to give.

Leftover Beef Recipes

!±8± Leftover Beef Recipes

Here are three recipes using fully cooked roast beef, beef, steak or ground. The other ingredients are simple and usually obvious.

Scalloped Beef

2 cups chopped roast beef, steak or ground, fully cooked
2 cups canned tomatoes, drained
Salt and pepper
1 cup beef jus or gravy or sauce leftover pot roast
(Maybe more than 1 cup if necessary.)
1 cup dry bread crumbs or croutons
2 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven to 350Degrees.

Place 1 layer in a baking dish with meat and tomato.
2 Season the layer with salt and pepper and cover with a thin layer of sauce.
3 Continue layering the meat, tomatoes, salt, pepper and sauce until exhaustion.
4 Cover the top with bread crumbs or croutons. Dot small pieces of butter over the crumbs.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until hot through.

Baked Hash

2 cups chopped roast beef, steak or ground, fully cooked
1Tablespoons butter
2 cups cold boiled potatoes
2 cups beef broth
Season to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking sheet.

1 In a large saucepan melt the butter in the broth.
2 Add the chopped meat and potatoes, and mix together with the broth.
3 Season with salt and pepper.
Pour into buttered casserole type 4.
5 Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until hot through and browned well.

Cream of hashToast

2 cups chopped roast beef, steak or ground, fully cooked
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1 cup of cream sauce, recipe below

1 Combine the meat, spices and cream in a large pot.
2 Cook over low heat over medium heat.
3 Serve on slices of toast for a simple dinner.

Cream Recipe

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk
1 / 2Teaspoon salt
Pinch of black pepper

1 Melt the butter in a frying pan, but do not let brown.
2 Mix the flour, stir until it is smooth.
3 Add the milk and bring to a boil stirring constantly.
4 Season and use at once with cream recipe Hash.

* In a 21 / 2 to 3 qt pot fill with enough water to cover potatoes about 2 inches
* Approx 2-3 potatoes for each adult
* Clean the skin or peel potatoes
* Quarter potatoes, then cut each quarter in half (you should potato piece)
* Cook the potatoes on medium-high until soft, drain, then water (about 20 minutes)
* Put the potatoes back to a very low heat
* With a potato masher to crush the potatoes, then mix with a mixer or a fork or whisk
- For all 6POTATOES
* In addition, about 1 teaspoon butter and 1 tablespoon milk
* Add salt, pepper and mix well

(Variation) - add about 1 tablespoon of sour cream for every 6 potatoes
